In your simulations, what's the average point total of the last MLS clubs to miss the playoffs (6th in East and West Conferences)?
Seems like this would be a good way to estimate to the point total clubs in each conference should be shooting for.

For that kind of thing I would go to the team page and read down the "what if" section until I got to a percentage chance I was comfortable with, and then shoot for that record.
